Economic Inequality The solution to the problem - Ashley Moyé

How are wages determined?
In short, it’s about supply and demand. If a position doesn’t require a special set of skills, knowledge or certification/licensure (that is difficult to come by), the employer’s perspective will be “whatever we can get away with,” i.e., “how desperate is someone for this job?” It doesn’t matter how much the employee contributes to the organization or how much revenue the employee pulls in/retains. If you are considered disposable and easily replaced, you will be exploited.
It doesn’t matter what the cost of living is. If HR can get a warm body in the door, they’re not going to compensate you with a livable wage.
Not everybody can be a doctor or a manager. Someone’s got to answer the phone. The rich (investors, CEOs) are getting richer, and the middle class is getting poorer. What’s the solution?
Now, I personally don’t believe that a teenager that takes fast food orders should be getting $20.00 an hour, so raising the minimum wage, in my opinion, doesn’t make any sense.
Staging a riot, or chopping off someone’s head, like they did in the French Revolution, isn’t ethical, either.
